Dream Center Announces Move to Portage Street
The First Assembly of God Church's Dream Center, headed by associate pastor Jim LaDuke, recently announced its plans to move to Portage Street.
No stranger to the Edison neighborhood - the Dream Center has been working with residents for three years - the Dream Center is thrilled to realize its goal of locating a full-time operations center on Portage Street. The Dream Center will continue its Adopt-A-Block Program, wherein members of the First Assembly Church volunteer time to assist with residential clean-up projects throughout the neighborhood. The opening of the Center will also allow for a food bank and clothing program, as well as referrals to existing neighborhood services.
The Dream Center will add spiritual counseling to its social programming and referral service agenda.
The Center will be located at 1122 Portage Street, and will add new signage and landscaping to the building. The Center has secured a three-year lease, but according to Pastor LaDuke, "We're in it for the long haul."
Watch for activity at the Dream Center's new location, as volunteers prepare the building for the host of activities to come, and join us in congratulating this new addition to the revitalization of Portage Street.
